Tokyo Generative AI Developer Community - Global AI Bootcamp 2025 Event Report
On March 15, 2025, the Tokyo Generative AI Developer Community successfully hosted the Global AI Bootcamp 2025. The event was held in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation. It attracted AI professionals, researchers, and industry experts from around the world. Over 200 people registered, with 120 attending in person (exceeding the venue’s 99-seat capacity) and more than 30 joining online. The event featured a strong lineup of speakers, including a Microsoft MVP who flew in from Hyderabad, India, local MVPs from Japan, a Chinese MVP, a Ph.D. in AI, and the founder of an AI startup. The speakers shared deep insights into generative AI technology, real-world applications, and future trends. Topics covered included large model optimization, practical AI applications across industries, and startup experiences in the AI field. The attendees came from diverse backgrounds, including students from the University of Tokyo and Tsukuba University, researchers from Yamagata University, and professionals from leading companies such as Amazon, Google, SoftBank, and NTT. The event also welcomed two Japanese Microsoft MVPs and several participants from Europe and North America. The age range was equally impressive, spanning from nearly 80-year-old seniors to energetic university students, reflecting the broad appeal and impact of AI technology. Interaction was one of the highlights of the event. Attendees actively engaged with speakers during the sessions and during breaks. Many gathered around the speakers and panelists for in-depth discussions, creating a highly interactive and dynamic atmosphere. Key discussion topics included the potential of generative AI in healthcare, finance, and content creation, the technical challenges of training large models, and the opportunities and obstacles faced by AI startups. Many participants expressed that the event was insightful and inspiring, offering a broad perspective on generative AI's technology and applications. The real-world case studies and future outlooks shared by the speakers were particularly well-received. There was strong interest in attending similar events in the future for continued learning and networking.
