Neo4j Mini Agentic Hack

A full-day, hands-on event focused on building practical AI applications with Neo4j, GraphRAG, Agentic AI, and MCP.

Participants will explore how graph technology can improve AI systems and apply these concepts by building a small working prototype. You can work individually or in a team, supported by your preferred coding agent, the event instructor, and GraphAcademy.

The day includes guided learning, focused development time, collaboration, project demonstrations, prizes, and a closing celebration.

A production-ready application is not required. A working experiment, a short demo, and useful feedback are enough.

Goal

Build a small AI application using Neo4j and experiment with one or both of the following:

• Neo4j Document Intelligence - Build Your Knowledge Graph
• Neo4j Agent Memory Service - Give you Agents a Brain
• Neo4j Aura MCP - Unlock the power of Graphs with Aura MCP
• Leverage Neo4j and Microsoft Foundry

You are free to choose your own idea, documents, data, technology stack, AI model, and development approach.

You will also need to access or sign up for Neo4j Aura.

Suggested Flow

1. Choose a simple use case.
2. Add documents or structured data.
3. Build or generate a knowledge graph.
4. Ask connected questions about the graph.
5. Add agent memory if useful.
6. Prepare a short demonstration.
7. Share what worked, what was confusing, and what blocked you.

Getting Started

Follow the Neo4j GraphRAG Hackathon Workshop for the setup instructions, learning materials, and development environment.

Please Bring

• A laptop and charger
• Your preferred coding agent
• A GitHub account for GitHub Codespaces
• Basic Python or JavaScript/TypeScript experience

An OpenAI API key will be provided during the event.

Project Demo

Your short demo should explain:

• The problem or use case
• The data or documents used
• How Neo4j or GraphRAG was applied
• What worked
• What was challenging
• What you would build next

We will wrap up with prizes and swag.
