About

Boston Azure AI is excited to welcome Henk Boelman and Dona Sarkar for a special in-person evening of AI learning, builder stories, and community conversation. Henk and Dona will share practical insights from the front lines of Microsoft AI innovation, with a likely focus on topics like agents, GitHub, and Microsoft Foundry, plus the real-world patterns that help developers go from experimentation to impact.

Once upon a time in a land kind of far away, a company no one had ever heard of released a New Thing called Generative AI. At first the villagers were confused but after a little bit of experimentation, they realized that this new tech assistant could actually be useful for certain kinds of labor.

The Fate of CodePhelia

They named this assistant CodePhelia.

Of course, we can't have nice things, so the Not Smart Bad Humans immediately got their hands on CodePhelia and declared that CodePhelia would replace ALL human jobs in a span of 1-2 years.

This decree caused chaos throughout the land and lead to mistrust and fighting amongst the villagers for 3 years. And CodePhelia devolved into nothingness.

Your New Teammates: Architecting a Multi-Agent Workforce

hamba.nl is a live Dutch travel magazine built with the GitHub Copilot App and run by seven Foundry-hosted agents, orchestrated with Agent Framework, covering the full editorial pipeline from draft to published article.

In this session I'll take you under the hood: how the agents are scoped and orchestrated, how they connect to tools and data through MCP, how content, moderation, and fact-checking roles hand off to each other, and how a human-in-the-loop stays in control of final approval. This is a working system with real failure modes, and you'll leave with a concrete reference architecture for agent teams that run a function, not just generate code.
