Meta Buys Manus to Supercharge AI Agents
Meta is set to acquire Singapore-based AI startup Manus, a developer of autonomous, general-purpose AI agents that can tackle complex tasks with minimal prompting, in a deal valued at around $2–3 billion. The move accelerates Meta’s push to embed advanced AI across its products, including Meta AI, amid fierce tech competition and geopolitical scrutiny over Manus’s Chinese origins. Meta plans to integrate and operate Manus’s tech while broadening its AI ecosystem.
